5 Ways To Be Your Own Best Friend

  1. Enjoy your own company! Find ways to enjoy being by yourself. This can be anything from a hobby to taking a walk to daydreaming.
  2. Watch your self talk. Often we talk to ourselves in a way that we would never talk to a friend. Use your internal words as wisely as your external ones.
  3. Celebrate your successes. We tend to be really hard on ourselves. Instead of listing all your faults, think of all the things you are doing right.
  4. Treat yourself! Every once in a while, take yourself out to dinner or buy yourself something nice. If your budget won’t allow a splurge, thrift shop or pamper yourself at home.
  5. Dream big! Spend some time thinking of what you want for your future. YOU are the only guaranteed constant in your life. Decide who you want to be proud of in the future.
