We’ve all had times in our life when we’ve been lonely. Truthfully, sometimes we feel loneliest when we are amongst other people. We all have times of feeling left out of the group or wondering if others care that we’re there. Different phases of our lives have us seeking new relationships. Maybe you are starting a new job or your friend group centered around your now grown kids. Whatever the reason for your loneliness, I think there may be a quick cure. Try sharing some kindness. Do something kind for another human. Volunteer. Check up on an old friend. Ask someone you’ve recently met to coffee. Smile at a stranger. Ask a clerk how their day is going. Give a big tip. Spreading kindness creates a happiness bond between the giver and the receiver. Let’s try it out as a social experiment. Try a kind act and report the results back to us in the comments.
